Bridal Shower Gift

So last Saturday one of my favorite friends had her wedding shower. Being who I am, I couldn't just give her any gift. I had to create! It took some inspiration, but I finally found it... Here's how it went...

I started with three of these... laying them out.. to make sure they would 'connect' correctly.

One I was happy, I moved on to this...

I measured the wholes on the right side of the fan, so I could drill an equal hole on the left side... I figured that this time, I was going to string wire behind the fan to hang it...
Then came the drill! Whoop Whoop!
When I prime, I always use the Kilz. Good Stuff.
So I primed them all.. (Well prior I had cleaned off the dusty-nastiness that came with them..
I let them dry, then painted them with an 'off-white.'
After that, I had laid out the letters that I wanted to stencil on...
 Here's the letters traced..
 ... and painted!
' Hold  me close, don't ever let go.'

And this is the back... I attempted this... I used little stick, like Popsicle sticks.. and used hot glue to attach..

Hot Glue Gun! Looks so.. 70's. I love it.
Final product, hung on my wall!

The bride enjoyed it.Got some rave reviews. Total Success.

The quote is from a song called 'Diamond' by Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers.
It's one of my favorites from them.

Take it easy.

What a clever use for fan blades! I always see fans when thrifting but never thought to use the blades.
